The Parish Council is financed by way of a Precept which is requested from the Borough Council and then added to council tax bills of residents. Typically the Parish Council part of the Council Tax bill works out at under £1 per week.
The Precept is then spent locally on those items for which the Parish Council has budgeted.
The Parish Council is subject to two types of Audit. One done internally and one done by an external firm, currently PKF Littlejohn LLP. The results of these audits are available below. Anyone wishing to see the Council’s accounts can make a request to the Parish Clerk.
Snelson Parish Council has only one paid employee and that is the Parish Clerk who is the legal and financial officer for the council. The Councillors are all unpaid.
