Please be advised, Cheshire East Council is now consulting on a number of Public Space Protection Orders (PSPO’s) currently in place across the borough. These orders are in existence for a period of 3 years and the current orders are due to expire in October 2020. The Council has a statutory obligation to consult with residents ahead of the orders being extended for a further 3 year period. The Council would be grateful if you could advise your communities of the consultation using your own communication links to encourage responses.
The PSPO’s to be consulted on include:-
- Dog fouling / Dog Control (boroughwide)
Full details of the consultation process and supporting documents together with information on how to respond to the consultation is available by clicking the following link.
Please note: The Council is also consulting on a further two PSPO’s which relate to specific areas across the borough and these include Gating Orders (mainly in Crewe, with an order also in place in Macclesfield and Middlewich) and Carrs Park, Wilmslow (also relating to dog control)
Further details can also be found relating to these consultations on the above link.
Thank You
Welcome to the first edition of the SSISS Post.
Thank you for your encouraging messages about keeping Snelson cheerful in these times. Like other communities, we are a mixed group with those working as usual, some from home, some on furlough (what a horrible American word), some home schooling and some retired. So I hope that over the coming weeks/months there will be articles and information that will interest us all from time to time.
I have received a wonderful newsletter from Claire at Heath Farm which is attached below for everyone to enjoy.
As Claire has started the ball rolling, may I please have some more photos, stories, commentary for the next edition in two weeks’ time.
Meanwhile, on Thursday evenings at 8 shall we see if we can make some noise for the NHS and all the people who have been working to keep this country going over the last weeks; dustmen, posties, shopkeepers and all the volunteers and people helping friends and neighbours?
As we are a rural community can you please go outside to where you might been seen or heard nearby, bash a saucepan, clap your hands or if you are talented play a musical instrument and listen to how many of your neighbours you can hear. Let’s make our contribution to this clever rather British appreciation of everyone who is helping at the moment.
With the reduction in noise levels have you noticed the amount of birdsong now? We have been watching for the different species as well and have the usual flock of hedge sparrows and dunlins, some blue tits, great tits, robins, wrens and all are nesting in and around the garden. We have a male pheasant who struts about with two females and mutters to himself which we have not heard before.
Has anyone seen the goldfinches who came all winter but have not been seen for some weeks now? There are no yellowhammers or chaffinches yet.
One last plea to leave the roadside verges uncut until later in the autumn as the smaller invertebrate population need all the help they can get at this time of year. For without them as food for the small bird population, these will quickly diminish in numbers and species.
I hope you enjoy Claire’s article.
Until edition number two please stay well in these constrained times.
Yours,
Cliff Walsingham
